𝗠𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡, 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙚 28) – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region 10’s (BFAR-10) Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) program phase 2 has intensified its engagement with its field implementers to ensure the long-term sustainability of the region’s fisheries and aquatic resources during its mid-year assessment meeting, here, in this city.

To assess achievements and enhance program implementation, representatives from various Provincial Project Management Support Offices (PPMSO) across Region 10 recently gathered to review accomplishments for the year’s second quarter.

According to BFAR 10 – SAAD Alternate Assistant Focal, Ibrahim R. Sanggoyod, the said activity serves as a platform for key stakeholders to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities to enhance the implementation of the program’s projects in their respective provinces.

“The quarterly review is crucial for evaluating the impact of initiatives and aligning strategies for future endeavors. These meetings allow us to assess our efforts comprehensively and make necessary adjustments to serve our stakeholders better,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, BFAR-10 Fisheries Production and Support Services Division chief Marlou Fernandez, expressed gratitude to the program’s field implementers for their efforts and hard work in empowering the local communities.

“Behind those obstacles and challenges you’ve faced, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering dedication to work with a high spirit. As our [BFAR-10 Regional Director Edward Yasay] often emphasizes, we are here to serve,” he conveyed.

Further, Fernandez pinned his hopes for the success of the SAAD program and its future achievements.

“I hope that Region 10 will achieve further success in every aspect of the program, and that will also serve as an example for other regions,” he remarked.

Looking forward, BFAR 10-SAAD remains steadfast in its mission to empower fisherfolk groups who are active actors in fishery development and nation-building.
