๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ก, ๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ฟ๐ผ ๐๐ถ๐๐ (๐ ๐ช๐ก๐ฎ 1) โ As part of the Bureauโs 77th Anniversary celebration, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Region 10 (BFAR-NorMin), under the leadership of Regional Director Edward Yasay, spearheaded a Mental Health Awareness Symposium in fostering a supportive work environment within the agency, here, this city.

According to Ma. Dolores Mercado, Nurse V of the Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) in Northern Mindanao, the activity aims to equip employees with essential knowledge in managing mental health challenges and create a healthier work environment in which they feel supported and empowered.
โBy instilling mental health awareness, we can ensure that our employees continue to grow both professionally and emotionally, and with that, we can end the stigma and make this world a better place for everyone,โ she said.
Mercado further discussed effective Mental Health programs, including practical stress management strategies, fostering work-life balance, recognizing signs of burnout, and strengthening mental resilience.
Likewise, the agency, through its Human Resource Management Unit (HRMU), is committed to creating a more supportive and understanding environment for the overall well-being of the employees.
Further, the activity corresponds to the importance of mental health in the workplace, as supported by the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Memorandum Circular No. 04, Series of 2020, or the “Mental Health Program in the Public Sector.”
Said resolution is anchored on Republic Act No. 11036, also known as the Mental Health Act of 2018, which establishes a National Mental Health Policy to enhance the Delivery of Integrated Mental Health Services, Promoting and Protecting the Rights of Persons Utilizing Psychosocial Health Services, Appropriating Funds Therefore, and Other Purposes.
