Led by the Bureauโ€™s FSP Focal Violy Monton, and with the assistance of PFO-LDN Officer Jerose Acut, BFAR-10 oriented 12 scholars (11 from the Fisherfolk Children Educational Grant and 1 Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples), with the presence of their guardians, on the scholarshipโ€™s benefits, academic expectations, and their future responsibilities in contributing to fisheries development.

Following the orientation, Human Resource Management Unit Staff, Amenah Aldaya, facilitated the contract signing, formalizing the agreement between BFAR-10 and its scholars.

As one of the agencyโ€™s key initiatives to support aspiring fisheries professionals in the region, the FSP provides students with financial assistance to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries course.

The hope is that they will use the acquired qualifications and competencies as future enablers of inclusive growth and development of the country, especially in the fisheries sector.(NQuenano//PFO-LDN)
