𝗖𝗨𝗚𝗠𝗔𝗡, 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗼 (𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟵) — In response to the statistically declining number of sardine catches in Fisheries Management Area (FMA) 9, BFAR-10 convened stakeholders from across the region for a two-day consultation on July 30-31 at the Chali Conference Center, this city, to gather input on management and conservation measures.

Among the stakeholders present were national government agencies, police and enforcement teams, civil society groups, and field experts who shed light on the realities regarding sardine fisheries. The input from the stakeholders will help refine the Fisheries Management Plan (FMP), which is anchored on the national sardine fisheries management plan. Moreover, the consultation presented the proposed FAO titled, “Establishing Closed Season for the Conservation of Sardines in Fisheries Management Area-9.”(𝙈𝙋𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙖//𝙁𝙞𝙨𝙝𝘾𝙤𝙍𝙚)
