OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (July 3, 2023) โ The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-10 marked a significant milestone with its launching of Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program Phase 2 on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Asenso Misamis Occidental Sports and Cultural Center, Capitol Grounds, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental.
The program will benefit fisherfolk beneficiaries from the 5th and 6th class municipalities: Sapang Dalaga, Baliangao, Panaon, Sinacaban, Concepcion, Bonifacio, and Don Victoriano.
BFAR-10 Regional Director Edward B. Yasay is grateful to the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental for its continuous involvement in the Bureauโs programs and projects for the improvement of the lives of fishermen. “Our SAAD activities will hopefully help strengthen and increase the livelihood of our fisherfolk” he added.
Director Yasay also extended his gratitude to the leaders who give enough focus and attention to the fisherfolk in improving their lives.
Meanwhile, Governor Henry S. Oaminal stressed that the programs and projects of the national government implemented in the province will be closely coordinated to ensure their proper implementation and to really have an impact on the development of the beneficiaries.
Along with the said event were a series of presentations on the following topics: 1) Overview of SAAD Program Phase 2 by Mr. Ibrahim R. Sanggoyod, Alternate Assistant Focal of SAAD RPMSO; 2) Delineation of Roles and Responsibilities of SAAD Stakeholders by Mr. Bopp Benjack D. Dacup, Technical Support Staff of SAAD RPMSO; and 3) SAAD Program Phase 2 in Misamis Occidental by Ms. Virginia P. Valde, Alternate Provincial Focal of PFO Misamis Occidental.
The SAAD Program Phase 2 launch represents a significant step forward for Misamis Occidental in its pursuit of sustainable agricultural development. It embodies the province’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of its farmers and fisherfolk, recognizing their invaluable contributions to food security and economic growth.
